MISSION 2034

2034 will mark 700 years of Kathiwada as known to and documented by historians.. Our mission is to use this runway as a guiding time-post to have the most positive impact for development (in a decade) than any other time in its past.

Using a three pronged approach to achieve our developmental goals;

  1. (PPP) Public-Private Partnerships: Engaging with the government for the implementation of key infrastructure projects and understanding various schemes and incentives provided by local and state policy makers for the improvement of livelihoods.

  2. (PI) Private Initiatives: To create successful for-profit ventures for/with local entrepreneurs in order to promote sustained regional economic growth and increase local employment levels.

  3. (NGO) Charitable Work & Aid: To invite and foster healthy working relationships with various charitable organizations who are subject matter experts in their respective fields to support functions of society that go beyond the purview of governing bodies and local communities.

FULCRUM ECONOMICS

Kathiwada Foundation under the leadership of HH Rana Digvijaysingh holds the key to unlocking solutions for a host of problems. While the core objective of the Foundation is to research issues, find solutions and develop projects for the people and with the people, another major role it plays is that of Representation & Activism by acting like a Fulcrum.

The government has at its disposal plenty of resources that private agencies do not. The Foundation acts as a fulcrum between the people and the government to enable, accelerate and utilize these key resources effectively be it project funding or policy changes.

Recent Examples

  1. Roadways (FEB 2022): A long stalemate for a roadway project. Ending a 3-year battle between state forest authorities and the center for the promised local highway (due to disputed land matters) was pushed through with fierce lobbying under the leadership of Rana Digvijasinghji.

  2. Healthcare(JAN 2023): Rana Digvijaysinhji chairs the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (Healthcare Welfare Committee) in Kathiwada and has pushed through a major new CHC (Community Health Center/Hospital) which will be the first of its kind in the region.

  3. Water Conservation: Budgets were allocated for the first time in Kathiwada for water conservation efforts of the 2 major lakes that form the belly of water supply to farmers of those villages. In no other time in the past has Kathiwada had a water shortage and thus no efforts for harvesting at scale being developed.
